Seeing the video, it is known that the accused committed this act during the evening Diwan when Aradhana Sahib was being recited inside the Sachkhand Darbar Sahib. The CCTV footage shows that the accused crossed the grille at the place where he bowed his head inside Sachkhand and picked up the sword installed there and tried to sacrilege the Guru Granth Sahib.

Punjab | A man tried to desecrate the Guru Granth Sahib during the Diwan on Saturday evening at Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple), the most sacred place of Sikhism. Thereafter, the mob thrashed him to death. The incident has been recorded in the CCTV installed there, the video of which has surfaced.

Seeing the video, it is known that the accused committed this act during the evening Diwan when Aradhana Sahib was being recited inside the Sachkhand Darbar Sahib. The CCTV footage shows that the accused crossed the grille at the place where he bowed his head inside Sachkhand and picked up the sword installed there and tried to sacrilege the Guru Granth Sahib. During this, the servants present there caught him.

After this the mob started beating him. The accused youth has died in the incident. Amritsar DCP Parminder Singh Bhandal said, "Today a youth aged 24-25 years entered (Golden Temple) at the place where the holy book (Guru Granth Sahib) is kept. He tried to desecrate it with the sword. Compatible people took him out. He died during the dispute.
