Miss India Delhi 2019 Mansi Sehgal has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of party leader Raghav Chadha, reported ANI on Monday. Mansi Sehgal pursued BTech from Netaji Subhas University of Technology after finishing her schooling at Delhi Public School, Dwarka. According to reports, she also runs a startup.

NEW DELHI: Inspired by the “honest governance of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal” Miss India Delhi 2019 Mansi Sehgal joined Aam Aadmi Party on Monday.

AAP MLA Raghav Chadha inducted Sehgal into the party at the Naraina Vihar Club in the presence of several residents.

A Delhi resident, Sehgal is a trained engineer, TedX speaker and an entrepreneur.

In her introduction to the Miss India Delhi pageant, she had spoken about her keen interest in philanthropy and organ donation.

On her induction into AAP, Sehgal, a trained dancer, said, "From an extremely young age, I wanted to do something good for the society, to make a difference. For any nation to prosper, health and education are the two main pillars, and I have seen tremendous change in these fields in the last few years, under the leadership of CM Kejriwal."

Raghav Chadha welcomed her. "I am delighted that AAP and Arvind Kejriwal instill confidence in young people to join politics and serve the people, and the AAP family is growing by leaps and bounds with each passing day. I welcome Mansi into the AAP family," Chadha said.

Speaking about what inspired her to join AAP, Sehgal said, "I was extremely impressed by the honest governance of Arvind Kejriwal and MLA Raghav Chadha and chose to join AAP. I feel that through clean politics, we can bring about a substantial change in the world that we live in."

Encouraging more youth and women to be an active part of politics and to join AAP, Sehgal said, "I would urge our youth and particularly our women to come and join us, and bring about the change that we all wish to see."
