In its judgment on Saturday, the High Court ordered the jail authorities to provide the former prime minister with a prayer mat, ie Janmaaz, and a copy of the Holy Quran to offer Namaz.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq, in his order, asked the authorities to give the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader a copy of the Holy Quran translated into English along with the dead body. On the petition of the PTI chief, the High Court issued an order to shift him to Adiala Jail. Along with this, the court sought help for the next hearing and asked whether home-cooked food could be provided to the top PTI leader.

Disappointment on not getting orders for food

The party raised serious concerns over the postponement of home-cooked food for jailed PTI chief Imran Khan. On this issue, another PTI leader Farooq Habib expressed his disappointment on Twitter. Imran Khan is serving a jail term after being convicted in a corruption case.

Further, the court also directed that as per the jail rules, the jail authorities should facilitate meetings between the PTI chief and his friends, relatives and lawyers, with a record of not more than one meeting per week.
