Now farmers will not need to go to the purchasing center to sell wheat in the state. The Food and Logistics Department is making arrangements that wheat should be purchased from village to village through mobile purchasing centers.
At present, wheat is being procured at government purchasing centers across the state. For this, about five and a half thousand purchasing centers have been set up. There, drinking water, shade and other necessary arrangements have been made at the purchasing centers so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem. Despite so much effort, only 1.28 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in the last one month, while the government has set a target of purchasing six lakh tonnes of wheat.
On Friday, 11,126.66 metric tonnes of wheat was purchased. In fact, farmers are getting the price of wheat up to Rs 2300 per quintal in the market. Whereas wheat is being procured at government centers at the rate of Rs 2015 per quintal at MSP. In such a situation, the goal of the government seems far away.
Therefore, to increase procurement, it has been decided to buy wheat through mobile purchasing centers. For this, the purchase center in-charge will negotiate with the fair rate vendors and village heads of the rural areas. During this time, in the village where the talk will be made, wheat will be bought with a fork and after loading in the truck, the wheat will be sent directly to the Food Corporation of India. The actual distance up to the depot of the Corporation will be paid to the transport contractor as per the tender rates.
Farmers will have to give information of arrival in advanceAccording to the officials of the Food and Logistics Department, in which village the purchase will take place on which date, the mobile village head in-charge of the purchase center and the concerned fair rate seller will give information. The village head and the fair rate vendor will go to the village and inform the farmers about the arrival time of the mobile team. So that farmers should be ready to sell wheat on that day.
The team operating the mobile purchase center will buy wheat at the public places of the respective village like Panchayat Bhawan, fair price vendor's shop etc. Publicity will be given to the names and telephone numbers of the purchase center in-charges. So that the farmers themselves can take advantage of the facility by contacting the center in-charge.
