Delhi Election: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today launch several development projects worth more than Rs 12,200 crore, which aim to improve infrastructure and transport facilities in the country. These projects include the inauguration of an important section of the Namo Bharat Corridor between Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut and the first section of the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro. Along with this, the Prime Minister will also address a huge public meeting in the capital Delhi.

Inauguration of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor

Prime Minister Modi will travel in the Namo Bharat train between Sahibabad RRTS station to New Ashok Nagar RRTS station. This 13 km long section between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 4,600 crore. After this inauguration, Delhi will get its first Namo Bharat train connectivity. This connectivity will make travel between Delhi and Meerut faster and smoother.

According to officials, PM Modi will travel from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar immediately after the inauguration. Train services on this section for the public will start from 5 pm on Sunday. The trains will run at an interval of every 15 minutes. The fare from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South has been fixed at Rs 150 for standard coaches and Rs 225 for premium coaches.

Namo Bharat train to travel underground for the first time

Of this newly built 13 km section, six km is underground, with Anand Vihar being a major station. This is the first time that Namo Bharat trains will run on an underground section. Officials said that with this inauguration, Namo Bharat trains will now reach Delhi directly. This move will make public transport more accessible in the Delhi-NCR region.

Extension of Namo Bharat Corridor

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 17 km long section between Sahibabad and Duhai depot on October 20 last year. Currently, a 42 km section from Sahibabad to Meerut South is operational, which includes nine stations. After the inauguration of the new section, the operational section of the Namo Bharat Corridor will become 55 km, with a total of 11 stations. With this, Meerut will now be directly connected to Delhi and the travel time will be reduced by one-third. Passengers will be able to travel from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South in just 40 minutes.

Inauguration of the first section of the fourth phase of Delhi Metro

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the 2.8 km long section between Janakpuri and Krishna Park under the fourth phase of Delhi Metro today. This section has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 1,200 crore. This is the first section of the fourth phase, which will be inaugurated.

This new section will greatly benefit the residents of areas of West Delhi like Krishna Park, Vikaspuri and Janakpuri. Along with this, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the Rithala-Kundli section of Delhi Metro. This 26.5 km long corridor will connect Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana. The cost of this project is around Rs 6,230 crore.

Boost connectivity

The construction of the Rithala-Kundli corridor will be convenient for the passengers of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. This will be part of the extended Red Line, making travel between these three states more seamless.

Foundation Stone of Ayurveda Research Institute

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the new state-of-the-art building of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) at Rohini. The building will be constructed at a cost of around Rs 185 crore. The institute will play a key role in promoting research in the field of Ayurveda and making this ancient system of medicine relevant in the modern context.

Conclusion

The inauguration and foundation stone laying of these projects will not only improve the connectivity of Delhi and the NCR region but will also accelerate the pace of development across the country. These projects of Namo Bharat Corridor and Phase 4 of Delhi Metro will take the country's infrastructure to new heights and simplify and improve the lives of millions of people.
