Delhi Election: Political excitement has intensified regarding the Delhi Assembly elections. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress had already released their list of candidates, while on Saturday Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also released its first list. A total of 29 candidates have been declared in this list. The special thing is that BJP has given tickets to four rebel leaders, who were earlier associated with Aam Aadmi Party or Congress.

New Delhi seat towards triangular contest

The most interesting contest in Delhi politics will be seen on the New Delhi Assembly seat. This seat is also important because Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal is the candidate here. BJP has fielded Pravesh Verma, son of former MP and former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma from this seat. On the other hand, Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit, son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit from this seat.

In this way, there will be an electoral battle between a former Chief Minister and the sons of two former Chief Ministers on the New Delhi seat. This triangular contest will not only be interesting but can also change the political equations. All the major parties are considering this seat as a matter of prestige and are putting in all their efforts to win it.

BJP's bet on rebels

BJP has given tickets to four such candidates in its first list, who were earlier associated with other parties. Among them, Kailash Gehlot, who rebelled against Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP, has been given ticket from Bijwasan seat. Gehlot has been MLA from Najafgarh seat and has also been Transport Minister in the AAP government. BJP has tried to woo the voters of Jat community by making him a candidate from Bijwasan seat.

BJP has made Raj Kumar Anand its candidate from Patel Nagar seat. Anand has been MLA from this seat earlier also and now BJP has given him a chance again. Arvinder Singh Lovely, who came to BJP from Congress, has got ticket from Gandhinagar seat. This is considered to be Lovely's traditional seat, and BJP hopes that through him they will be able to make a dent in the vote bank of Congress.

Apart from this, BJP has made Kartar Singh Tanwar its candidate from Chhatarpur seat. Tanwar has been an MLA from this seat earlier and now he is in the electoral fray again after joining BJP. This move of BJP clearly indicates that the party is adopting a strategy to woo its core vote bank as well as other communities.

Electoral equation and strategy

This time all the major parties have entered the fray with full preparation in the Delhi assembly elections. While Aam Aadmi Party has made its work a major issue, BJP and Congress have released the list of their candidates raising questions on the policies of AAP. In the strategy of BJP, special attention has been given to those seats where the opposition parties have strong vote banks.

By giving tickets to rebels, BJP has tried to show that it wants to take every community and class along. At the same time, Congress is trying to win its traditional seats.

Special importance of New Delhi seat

New Delhi assembly seat is being considered the center of the electoral battle. Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal had performed strongly here in the last elections. This time BJP has tried to woo Jat voters by fielding Pravesh Verma. On the other hand, Congress has made the contest on this seat more interesting by giving ticket to Sandeep Dixit.

It will be interesting to see to what extent this strategy of the three major parties is successful. In the coming time, everyone's eyes will be on the election campaign and the activities of the candidates. To know who the people of Delhi will hand over the chair of power, everyone will have to wait for the election results.
