MCD Election 2022 / Polling under way amid tight security; three-way contest among BJP, AAP and Congress

Voting is going on today (on December 4) for MCD Election in Delhi. Voting is going on in 250 wards. More than 1.45 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the MCD elections. 13,638 polling stations have been set up in Delhi for the MCD elections. 492 sensitive areas have been identified in Delhi. At the same time, 3356 has been declared as a sensitive polling station.

MCD Election 2022 : Voting is going on today (on December 4) for MCD Election in Delhi. Voting is going on in 250 wards. More than 1.45 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the MCD elections. 13,638 polling stations have been set up in Delhi for the MCD elections. 492 sensitive areas have been identified in Delhi. At the same time, 3356 has been declared as a sensitive polling station. There are 56,573 EVMs at polling stations in MCD elections, with the help of which voting is going on. BJP is in control of MCD for the last 15 years. In this MCD election, there is a contest between BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.


Let us inform that today (on December 4) 1,45,05,322 voters will exercise their franchise in Delhi's MCD elections. There are 95,458 voters in this who will vote for the first time. The most populous ward is Mayur Vihar-1, where there are 88,878 voters. At the same time, the least populated ward is Kanjhawala, where the number of voters is 40,467. The number of candidates contesting the elections in 2022 is less as compared to the last MCD elections. A total of 2538 candidates were in the fray in the year 2017 MCD elections and in this election 1349 candidates have entered the fray.
