Charanjit Channi Meets Amit Shah: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi met Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in Delhi today. After this he said that I spoke with the Home Minister on the Lakhimpur Kheri matter. We will not tolerate what happened in UP. CM said that I requested him to withdraw the Agriculture Act. At the same time, he said that he was also discussed about the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, on his behalf it has been said that he will soon take a decision on the corridor.

BJP workers, who were on their way to an event to welcome Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, allegedly crushed protesting farmers with vehicles at Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday. Violence then erupted. Eight people, including four farmers, died in this violence.

Charanjit Channi said that the violence at Lakhimpur Kheri reminded him of the Jallianwala Bagh incident of 1919. The Punjab Chief Minister alleged, "The manner in which the SUV car was overturned and killed on the peaceful protesting farmers was done intentionally." Looks like this kind of incident.

"Today farmers are unhappy and they are dying. Considering this, these (agriculture) laws should be withdrawn immediately.” He said incidents like Lakhimpur Kheri should be stopped.

The Chief Minister said, "(Narendra) Modi ji should stop his BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh people. This will not work in the country." On the detention of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Uttar Pradesh, Channi said, "It is enough now. this is unacceptable . Today the blood of all the countrymen is boiling.
