New Delhi: Crores of people travel daily by Indian Railways. There are total 12,167 passenger trains in India. Let us tell, 23 million passengers travel by train daily in the country, this number is equal to the entire population of a country like Australia. If you have traveled by train, then you must have seen that often one has to stand in long queues to get tickets at stations. IRCTC started service with Paytm

IRCTC has facilitated digital ticketing in association with digital payment provider Paytm. Passengers will be able to buy tickets through Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM). This is the first time that Indian Railways is providing an option to pay digitally for ticket services through UPI on ATVMs to promote cashless among railway passengers. It has already gone live on all ATVM machines at railway stations in India.

Let us tell you that ATVMs installed at railway stations are touch-screen based ticketing kiosks, through which passengers can take tickets by making digital payment without smart card. Passengers will be able to buy general tickets and platform tickets by scanning the QR code generated on the screen. Apart from this, you will be able to renew your seasonal tickets and can also recharge smart cards. Paytm offers different payment options to the passengers, which include Paytm UPI, Paytm Wallet, Paytm Postpaid (Buy Now, Pay Later), Net Banking, Credit Card and Debit Card.

You can book tickets like this
