HIJAB ROW / Section 144 implemented in Udupi from February 14 amid hijab controversy, ban on gathering of people

Amidst the hijab controversy, the Udupi district administration has imposed section 144 in the vicinity of all high schools in the district from February 14 to February 19. During this, there will be a ban on gathering within 200 meters of high schools. There will be a ban on any kind of procession and sloganeering.

Amidst the hijab controversy, the Udupi district administration has imposed section 144 in the vicinity of all high schools in the district from February 14 to February 19. During this, there will be a ban on gathering within 200 meters of high schools. There will be a ban on any kind of procession and sloganeering.

Let us inform that this order of Udupi district administration will be applicable from 6 am on February 14 to 6 pm on February 19. According to the order, gatherings of five or more people will be prohibited within 200 meters of high schools. There will be a ban on demonstrations and rallies. There will be a strict ban on raising slogans, singing songs or giving speeches.

The move is being seen as a precautionary measure with schools reopening from Monday. Section 144 has been implemented so that the situation of student's performance is not created again.
