In this meeting, many important agreements were made between the two countries, in which a major announcement was that Mumbai attack convict Tahawwur Rana would be extradited to India.

President Trump presented a book "Our Journey Together" to PM Modi at the White House. This meeting was the first official meeting after Trump's swearing in as President.

Extradition of Tahawwur Rana

After the meeting, Trump announced that his administration has approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, is currently lodged in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center. Trump said, "He will face justice in India."

Military cooperation

In addition, the US proposed to provide F-35 fighter jets to India, which is being seen as a major military sale. Trump promised to further strengthen the India-US military partnership and said that there is a "special bond" between the two countries.

Economic and energy cooperation

Trump and Modi also agreed to increase cooperation in the energy sector, which could make the US a major supplier of oil and gas to India. Apart from this, the two leaders committed to work together in the fight against global terrorism.

Economic corridor and others

There was also agreement on the development of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, which Trump called the "greatest trade route". Apart from this, the matter of reforming Indian laws in the field of nuclear technology also came up.
