MCD Election: After the MCD elections in Delhi, now the countdown has started for the election of Mayor. Voting for the mayoral election will start from 11 am tomorrow. Before the elections, there has been a tussle again between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor. This dispute is about the appointment of the Presiding Officer by the LG ie Lieutenant Governor. The work of the Presiding Officer will be to get the Mayor's election completed smoothly in Delhi MCD on Friday.

Delhi government raised questions on the appointment of the presiding officer

The LG has appointed BJP councilor Satya Sharma as the presiding officer for the mayor's election. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised questions on this. The AAP government in Delhi had proposed the name of Aam Aadmi Party councilor Mukesh Goyal for the presiding officer to the Lieutenant Governor. In fact, BJP corporator Satya Sharma has been the Mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation while Aam Aadmi Party corporator Mukesh Goyal has been a corporator since 1997 and is currently the oldest corporator in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Delhi Mayor's election will start at 11 am

First of all all councilors will take oath on Friday. Then around 11 o'clock the election of mayor, deputy mayor and members of the standing committee will be held. This whole program will be held on the fourth floor of the Civic Center.

Election for the post of Mayor in Delhi will be interesting. Although the Aam Aadmi Party has a heavy upper hand. Of the total 274 elected representatives who have the right to vote, the Aam Aadmi Party has 150 votes, while the Bharatiya Janata Party has only 113 votes. BJP has fielded Sanier leader Rekha Gupta as its candidate for the mayoral election. She has become a councilor for the third time. Elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are different from other elections in the sense that the anti-defection law does not apply and no whip works in the MCD.
