Vladimir Putin: Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed on Monday that the gunmen who attacked a concert hall in a suburb of Moscow last week were Islamic radicals. More than 130 people were killed in this attack. In a meeting with government officials, Putin said that the murders were committed by those people with whom Islamic countries have been fighting for centuries. Putin had said that four attackers were arrested while trying to flee Ukraine.

The Russian President once again avoided mentioning Islamic State in his remarks on Monday. Putin said that Western countries are trying to save their proxies by taking the name of IS, but it is important to find out why the terrorists tried to flee to Ukraine after committing their crime and who was waiting for them there.

After the IS associate claimed responsibility, America had justified the terrorist organization's claim. French President Emmanuel Macron said that according to the intelligence information available to France, IS is responsible for the Moscow attack.

Earlier on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov had denied holding anyone responsible and urged reporters to wait for the results of the investigation by Russian agencies. He also declined to comment on reports that the US had warned authorities in Moscow about a possible terrorist attack on March 7. Peskov said that such intelligence information is confidential.

Terrorism charges

Four people arrested in connection with the attack on a Russian concert hall were presented in a Moscow court on Sunday and charged with terrorism. During the hearing, the accused also showed injury marks to the court. One person was barely conscious.

Criminals do not deserve mercy: Prime Minister

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said the investigation was still ongoing but pledged that the perpetrators would be punished and that they did not deserve mercy. Officials said 137 people were killed and more than 180 injured in the Friday night attack on the Crocus City Hall on the western outskirts of Moscow. He told that 97 people are still admitted in the hospital.
