Uttar Pradesh / UP court sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a minor daughter for 8 months

A special POCSO court in Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) convicted a man for life for raping his minor daughter for 8 months and sentenced her to life imprisonment. The assistant district government advocate Subhash Chandra Chaturvedi said the case was detected when the daughter became pregnant, after which the victim's mother had filed a case.

Mathura: A special poxo court in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh has sentenced a man to life imprisonment till his death for raping his minor daughter for eight months.

Assistant District Government Advocate Subhash Chandra Chaturvedi said that in Mahavidya Colony of Govind Nagar area of ​​Thana, the father of the only minor daughter was bullied and raped her for eight months. The incident was detected when the daughter started showing symptoms after five months of pregnancy. Still, when the mother insisted, the victim's daughter told all the things.

According to Chaturvedi, the mother lodged a report of the incident on 4 May 2019. Police arrested the accused Banwari Lal alias Banwari potter son Shyam Lal.

The investigating officer told the court that according to the victim's mother Tahrir, Banwari Lal's relationship with his wife was not going well. When his wife went out of the house to work, he started a relationship with her minor daughter by beating her.

Special Judge Jahinder Pal Singh on Monday convicted the accused Banwari Lal and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Adalat also imposed a fine of fifty thousand rupees on him.
