Ritu Karidhal is handling the responsibility of this mission of landing Chandrayaan on the moon. Ritu Karidhal, who belongs to Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is known as Rocket Woman of India, given the long experience of working in the field of space, ISRO has made Ritu the mission director of Chandrayaan-3. Prior to this, she has been a part of many big space missions including Chandrayaan-2, the special thing is that Ritu Karidhal is one of those scientists who won ISRO's Young Scientist Award.

Ritu Karidhal is the daughter of Lucknow.

Ritu Karidhal is originally from Lucknow, her residence is in Rajajipuram. Ritu did her early education at St. Agnese School in Lucknow. After this she studied from Navyug Kanya Vidyalaya. After doing MSc in Physics from Lucknow University, Ritu moved to Indian Institutes of Science Bangalore to pursue MTech in Aerospace Engineering.

Left PHD for ISRO

After doing MTech, Ritu Karidhal started doing PHD and started teaching as a part-time professor in a college, meanwhile in 1997, according to Starson's report, she applied for a job in ISRO. He was appointed there. The difficulty was that she had to leave PHD for the job, for which she was not ready. Professor Manisha Gupta under whose guidance she was doing PHD, when she came to know about this, she encouraged Ritu to join ISRO.

Played an important role in Mangalyaan mission

Ritu Karidhal got her first posting at UR Rao Satellite Centre. His performance here impressed everyone. He received the ISRO Young Scientist Award in 2007. This was the period when the work on the Mangalyaan mission was about to begin. In an interview, Ritu Karidhal told that 'Suddenly I was told that now I am a part of Mangalyaan mission, it was shocking for me, but it was also encouraging, because I had become a part of an ambitious project.

This is how the responsibility of Chandrayaan-3 got

Ritu Karidhal was the mission director of Chandrayaan-2. Looking at her experience, in 2020 itself, ISRO had decided that the mission of Chandrayaan-3 would also be in the hands of Ritu. The project director of this mission is P Veeramuthuvel. Apart from this, M Vanitha, who was the project director of Chandrayaan-2 mission, has been given the responsibility of deputy director in this mission, who is handling the work of payload, data management.

Ritu credits her success to her family

Ritu Karidhal has two brothers and a sister in her family, her brother lives in Rajajipuram, Lucknow. Ritu is married to Avinash Srivastava, who is working in Titan Industries in Bangalore, they have two children, son Aditya and daughter Anisha. She gives the credit of her success to her family, in an interview Ritu had said that her family understands how important the missions are for her. He helps me in every way, I don't have to worry about him.
