CORONAVIRUS / 1.07 lakh patients appeared in last 24 hours, active cases reduced to 12.15 lakh

One lakh seven thousand 474 new cases of corona virus infection were registered in the country in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of corona cases has increased to four crore 21 lakh 88 thousand 138. At the same time, the number of active cases of corona has come down to 12 lakh 25 thousand 11. This information was given in the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday morning. According to the data updated at 8 am, 865 corona patients died in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who lost their lives due to this disease in the country has now reached five lakh one thousand 979.

2.90 percent of active patients compared to total cases

The ministry said that the active cases are 2.90 percent against the total cases of corona. The national rate of recovery from corona has now improved to 95.91 percent. In the last 24 hours, the number of active cases has come down by one lakh six thousand 637. The ministry said that the daily positivity rate of corona virus in the country has been recorded at 7.42 percent while the weekly positivity rate is at 10.20 percent. Apart from this, the number of people recovering from this deadly disease has now increased to four crore four lakh 61 thousand 148. The mortality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.

More than 169 crore doses of vaccines have been administered in the country so far

Along with this, 169 crore 43 lakh 62 thousand 182 doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign started against Corona. 95 crore six lakh 91 thousand seven people have been given the first dose of vaccine and 72 crore 96 lakh 19 thousand 453 people have been given both doses. Apart from this, a preventive or booster dose of vaccine has been given to one crore 40 lakh 51 thousand 722 people. The vaccination campaign in India touched one crore on 19 December 2020, two crore on 4 May last year and three crore on 23 June.

Out of 865 dead, only 444 corona infected patients were from Kerala

Of the corona infected who lost their lives in the last 24 hours, 444 patients were from Kerala and 68 from Maharashtra. So far one lakh 43 thousand eight people have died due to corona in Maharashtra, while in Kerala this figure is 57,740. Apart from this, 39,300 corona patients have lost their lives in Karnataka, 37,733 in Tamil Nadu, 25,969 in Delhi, 23,303 in Uttar Pradesh and 20,789 in West Bengal. According to the Union Health Ministry, 70 percent of the deaths due to corona were such in which the patients were infected with the corona virus and were suffering from some other serious disease.
