A major accident happened in Barabanki, UP on Monday morning. A double-decker bus parked on Purvanchal Expressway was hit hard by another bus. 8 passengers died on the spot, while 18 people were injured. Two women, a child are also among the dead. The accident was so severe that half the double decker bus got damaged.
This accident happened near Narendrapur Madraha village of Loniktra police station area. Both the buses were going from Bihar to Delhi. Police and administrative officials are on the spot. Rescue team is engaged in relief and rescue work. The injured have been referred to Lucknow Trauma Center from three community health centers in Barabanki.
Bus was going from Sitamarhi in Bihar to DelhiASP Manoj Pandey said that a double-decker bus (UP 17 AT 1353) had left for Delhi on Sunday from Pupri town in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. The bus was parked near Narendrapur Madraha village on Purvanchal Expressway in Barabanki district at 4 am on Monday. The passengers on the bus were having tea and snacks in the canteen of UPEDA.
Half an hour later at 4:50 a.m. suddenly another bus coming at a high speed hit the double-decker bus. All those who died in the accident are said to be passengers in the hit bus, which was going from Bihar to Delhi.
