Tension has increased in Manipur after the video of this incident surfaced. The incident took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district of the northeastern state. On this matter, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh said that the government is considering capital punishment against the criminals. He said that the accused was arrested at around 1.30 am on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Police registered a case of kidnapping, gangrape and murder and said that every effort is being made to arrest the accused and 12 teams have been formed to arrest the accused. According to the police complaint, on the day of the incident, around 800 to 1,000 people carrying sophisticated weapons came to B.J. According to the FIR, the mob killed a man instantly and forced three women to strip. One of them (21) was gang-raped and murdered when her 19-year-old brother tried to intervene.

Before the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament, PM Modi assured the countrymen that the culprits of this case will not be spared. He said that what has happened to the daughters of Manipur…the culprits can never be forgiven.

PM Modi further said that my heart is full of pain. How many are the sinners, who commit the crime and who are they, they are in their place… but the whole country is being insulted. The countrymen are feeling ashamed.
