PAK VS AFG / Afghanistan beats Pakistan for the first time in ODI

Afghanistan has achieved its first ODI win against Pakistan. The team caused the third upset of the World Cup 2023. Afghan team defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets. Afghanistan has also defeated defending champion England in the same tournament. Whereas Netherlands caused the second upset of the tournament by defeating South Africa. Pakistan won the toss and chose batting at Chepauk ground in Chennai.

PAK vs AFG: Afghanistan has achieved its first ODI win against Pakistan. The team caused the third upset of the World Cup 2023. Afghan team defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets. Pakistan won the toss and chose batting at Chepauk ground in Chennai. The team scored 282 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs, Noor Ahmed took 3 wickets. Afghanistan achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in the 49th over. Ibrahim Zadran scored 87 runs, he also made an opening partnership of 130 runs with Rahmanullah Gurbaz. After losing the wicket of Zadran at 190 runs, Rahmat Shah made the team win by making a partnership of 96 runs with captain Hashmatullah Shahidi.

After the win over Pakistan, Afghanistan got 4 points, the team reached sixth position in the points table. While Pakistan is at number-5 even after the third defeat in 5 matches, their hopes of reaching the semi-finals have suffered a setback. The team will now have to depend on other teams along with winning its remaining four matches.

Ibrahim Zadran is out after scoring 87 runs. Hasan Ali has made a comeback in Pakistan's game by catching him from the hands of Saeed Mohammad Rizwan.

Earlier, Rahman Rahman Gurbaz was caught out after scoring 65 runs, he was sent back by Royal Shah Afridi.

Capitals of 130 runs between Jadran-Gurbaz

After a great start in the powerplay, opener Ibrahim Zadran hit a Madrid grandslip with 130 balls. This Nagarliship was created by Roylan Shah Afridi Nest. He dismissed Gurbaz.

After Gurbaz's dismissal, Hasan Ali, who was supposed to be Zadran, made a comeback.

The openers gave a great start to the Afghan team by scoring 283 runs. Both scored 60 runs in 10 overs of powerplay. The pair of Zadran-Gurbaz started aggressively from the first over. Royal scored 10 runs in the first over. 8 runs came in the second over. A total of 16 runs were scored in the third, fourth, sixth and sixth overs.

The umpire gave Zadran out in the sixth over. In such a situation, DRS gave him permission. After the life-saving meeting, in the 8th over, Zadran along with Gurbaz scored 17 runs in one over of Haris Roof. Both of them performed four strokes in one over of Haris. During this period, poor fielding was also seen.

Iftikhar's aggressive 40 runs, Shafiq-Babar's fifty; Pakistan 282/7

Batting first, Forbes team scored 50 runs for 7 wickets and scored 282 runs.

At the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, opener Abdullah Shafiq scored 58 runs and captain Babar Azam scored 74 runs, while Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 40 runs on 27 balls. In the middle, Saud Shakeel played innings of 25 runs and Shadab Khan played 32 runs.

Brilliant innings by Afghanistan's spinners, took 4 wickets

After a great start in the powerplay, the Afghan spinners performed brilliantly. Noor Ahmed and Rashid Khan tied the batsmen throughout the film and released them even before crossing 200. In such a situation, the best batsman could score only 135 runs for 4 wickets in the middle 30 overs.

Openers Abdullah Shafiq and Captain Babar Azam kept their respective shares, while openers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan could not perform well.

Two important partnerships were missing from Pakistan's side. Babar took the second wicket for Abdullah Shafiq with 54 runs and added 43 runs for Saud Shafiq for the fourth wicket.

Pakistan's strong start in powerplay

The pair of Imam-Shafiq gave a strong start to Pakistan. The openers played the spells of fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq and spinner Mujeeb ur Rehman, who came to bowl with the new bowling, carefully. Shafiq and Imam played grounded shots in the first four overs and maintained balance.

After the pitch condition signal, the free openers started using hand instruments. Both of them scored 11 runs in the 5th over for New Ul Haq, while 12 runs were scored in the sixth over off the ball of Mujeeb. Mujeeb also scored 12 runs in the 8th over.

The budding batsman completely dominated spin. Pacer Ajmatza Omarzai and spin all-rounder Mohammad Nabi were brought in in the ninth and tenth overs. This reduced the run speed. Pakistan scored 56 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket.
