India / Bunkers built in J&K's Poonch amid ceasefire violations by Pak

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has constructed bunkers along the Line of Control in Poonch district, for the safety of locals amid ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Md Aslam, a local from Kosaliyan village, said their children also study in the bunker. Notably, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire over 8,500 times since January 1, 2018, the Home Affairs Ministry recently stated.

Poonch: Bunkers have been built by the government in J&K’s Poonch for safety of people. Areas like Kuslian and Karmarha are situated near LoC in Poonch. The villagers often have to fear for their lives during ceasefire violation from across the border. 

Locals also demanded more individual bunkers in these areas of Poonch district. Md Aslam, a local from Kosaliyan village said, "We are suffering every day due to frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Bunkers have increased our safety."
