The deadline for the auction of PM Modi's gifts is over. People put a lot of bids in the online auction. Maximum 140 bids have been received for the statue of Sardar Patel, while the highest bid of Rs 1.5 crore has been received for the Javelin given to PM Modi by Neeraj Chopra, the gold medalist in Tokyo Olympics.

New Delhi : The deadline for the auction of PM Modi's gifts is over. People put a lot of bids in the online auction. Maximum 140 bids have been received for the statue of Sardar Patel, while the highest bid of Rs 1.5 crore has been received for the Javelin given to PM Modi by Neeraj Chopra, the gold medalist in Tokyo Olympics.

Other gifts that received the highest bids include a wooden Ganesha statue (117), a Pune Metro Line memento (104) and a Vijay flame memento (98). Apart from Neeraj Chopra's javelin, Bhavani Devi's autographed fence has got a bid of Rs 1.25 crore, while a buyer for Sumit Antil's javelin agreed to pay Rs 1.2 crore. The angavastra signed by the Paralympic players of Tokyo 2020 has cost Rs 1 crore. The boxing gloves of Lovlina Borgohain have been priced at Rs 91 lakh.

Neeraj Chopra gifted his spear to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Indian Olympic contingent's felicitation ceremony held on 16 August. Subsequently, Olympic goods used by other Indian athletes, including the javelin, were put up for e-auction. Neeraj's javelin is manufactured by Nordic Sports and is priced at Rs 80,000 in the market.

1348 souvenirs were placed in the auction and 8,600 bids have been received for these. The third auction of PM Modi's gifts lasted from 17 September to 7 October. The amount received from the auction will be spent for cleaning the Ganga through Namami Gange Yojana. The last time 2,770 items were auctioned was in September 2019. Last time again the amount was donated for Namami Gange Yojana.
