Train Accident: A major train accident has taken place in West Bengal. A freight train coming at high speed from behind has hit the Kanchenjunga Express train standing on the track here, 7 people have died in this accident so far. It is being said that the Kanchenjunga Express going from NJP to Sealdah has crashed near Rangpanir station after crossing Siliguri. In this accident, three bogies behind the train have been badly damaged. It is being told that so far 7 passengers have died in the accident and 25 people have been injured. The loco pilot of the freight train has also died in this accident.

According to the information received from the railways, two passenger bogies and one parcel bogie have been damaged in the accident. It is being said that many people may be injured in this accident. All government and private hospitals at the site of the incident have been put on alert.

Additional SP of Darjeeling Police Abhishek Roy said, "Five passengers have died and 20-25 have been injured in the accident. The condition of many injured is critical. The accident happened when a freight train collided with the Kanchenjunga Express."

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav called it unfortunate

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed grief over the accident and said that an unfortunate accident has taken place in the NFR area. Rescue operations are going on on a war footing. Railways, NDRF and SDRF are working in close coordination. The injured are being rushed to the hospital. Senior officials have reached the spot.
