GT vs MI / Gujarat reached top 2 with the win – beat Mumbai by 55 runs

GT vs MI: Defending champions Gujarat Titans registered their first win over 5-time champions Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. The team captained by Hardik Pandya defeated Mumbai captained by Rohit Sharma by 55 runs. This is the fourth win of 50+ runs in the current season. Mumbai has failed to chase a score of 200+ for the ninth time in the history of the league.

This is Gujarat's 5th win of the current season, while Mumbai have lost their fourth match. With this victory, the Gujarat team has come at number two in the points table.

Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first, Gujarat scored 207 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Mumbai Indians batsmen could only manage 152 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Eighth: On the last ball of the 18th over, Mohit Sharma got Nehal caught by Shami.

Mumbai's slow start, scored just 29 runs in Powerplay

Chasing a target of 208 runs, Mumbai got off to a slow start. The team scored 29 runs losing one wicket in 6 overs. This is the second low score in the powerplay of the current season. Earlier, Rajasthan had added 26 runs for two wickets against Gujarat.

Gill scored a half-century, Miller-Manohar's half-century partnership

Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Fourth: On the second ball of the 13th over, Piyush Chawla got Vijay Shankar caught by Tim David.

Fifth: On the first ball of the 19th over, Riley Meredith got Abhinav Manohar caught by Jason Behrendorff.

Chhath: In the last over, Jason Behrendorff got David Miller caught by Suryakumar Yadav.

Miller-Manohar added 71 runs

David Miller and Abhinav Manohar shared a half-century partnership in the middle order to take the team's score past 150. Both added 71 runs on 35 balls. Meredith broke this partnership by dismissing Manohar.

Gill scored his third half-century of the season

Shubman Gill got out after scoring 56 runs. Gill completed his half century on 30 balls. He scored the 17th half-century of his career. He scored his third fifty this season.

Gujarat scored 50 runs in powerplay

Gujarat had a mixed start. The team scored 50 runs in 6 overs, although defending champions Gujarat suffered a setback. Arjun Tendulkar showed the way to the pavilion for 4 runs to Wriddhiman Saha.

Mumbai Indians landed with 2 changes, Gujarat landed without change

Rohit Sharma has made two changes in his team. Riley Meredith has got a chance in place of Kumar Kartikeya and Jofra Archer in place of Hrithik Shokeen. At the same time, there has been no change in the playing of defending champion Gujarat.
