India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the logo of its new and upcoming electric vehicle brand Vida (Vida). The company has shared the first glimpse of what the new branding looks like. Vida will debut in India later this month with the launch of its first electric two-wheeler.With the Hero Electric (Hero Electric) brand already existing, Hero MotoCorp needed a new branding for its electric vehicle business. The company has been fighting a legal battle with Hero Electric over the use of 'Hero' branding for its electric vehicles. Hero MotCorp has been trying to find a new name to represent its EV business for some time now.Hero MotoCorp has shared the first look of Vida branding on its social media handle. It shows the company's chairman and CEO Pawan Munjal posing next to the branding.
Will launch soonHero MotoCorp had earlier announced that it will introduce its first electric two-wheeler this month. The company had released the teaser of the upcoming electric scooter in August last year as part of Hero's 10th anniversary celebrations.Price and competitionAfter launching in the Indian market, the new electric scooter will compete with other vehicles like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1. The automaker will manufacture its electric vehicles at the Chittoor manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. Hero will also keep the pricing of its scooters competitive to compete with its rivals. According to the report, Hero MotoCorp may keep the price of its upcoming electric scooter below Rs 1 lakh.
Agreement with GogoroHero MotoCorp had earlier tied up with Taiwanese company Gogoro (Gogoro) for battery swapping technology. The company is also planning to launch a wide range of premium products. Among them, the company is reportedly also working on a battery-powered motorcycle.
