New Delhi: In the coming days, the people of Delhi are expected to get a slight relief from the summer, the temperature is expected to be below 40 degrees for the next few days. Today (Tuesday) at 5:30 am, the temperature at Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi was recorded at 20.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to be 38 degrees Celsius.

Monday was the hottest day of the last 76 years

Let me tell you, the temperature of Delhi was recorded at 40.1 degree Celsius on Monday, this was the highest temperature recorded in the month of March in the last 76 years. "The Safdarjung observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius, eight degrees above normal," said Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional forecast center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). He said, it was the hottest day since 31 March 1945, when the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.5 degrees Celsius.

Heat connection by running less air

Kuldeep Srivastava said that for the last three to four days, high temperatures were recorded due to the slowing of the wind speed and clear sunlight. According to the department, in the plains, when the maximum temperature exceeds 40 ° C and is at least 4.5 ° C higher than normal, then it is declared as 'LU'. At the same time, a severe heat wave is declared when the temperature rises to 6.5 degrees Celsius above normal.

There may be rain in these states

Srivastava said, today (Tuesday), the maximum temperature will be reduced to about 38 degrees Celsius due to winds blowing at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, forecasting thunderstorms in these northeastern states. The Meteorological Department has also forecast strong rains in Northeast India by 2 April.
