India-Germany Relation: India and Germany relations have taken a new direction in the last few years, which is becoming stronger and stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This relationship is confirmed by the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to India. This is his third visit to India during Scholz's tenure, which reflects the growing friendship and strategic partnership of the two countries. This partnership has achieved an encouraging level of progress in these two years, especially in key areas such as defence, technology, energy, green and sustainable development.From Defence to Energy – Expanding Comprehensive CooperationIndia and Germany’s cooperation is not limited to defence alone. Strongly growing cooperation between the two countries can be seen in areas such as technology, energy, and green and sustainable development. Germany has chosen India as a key partner, and its ‘Focus on India’ strategy was described by PM Modi as a welcome step. The Prime Minister supported new initiatives to expand this partnership and said that this effort is from a ‘whole of government’ approach to a ‘whole of nation’ approach, which will give direction to the development aspirations of both countries.Role of Green and Sustainable Development PartnershipPrime Minister Modi and Chancellor Scholz agreed on the German-Indian Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP) in the meeting. This partnership is an important step under the IGC launched in 2011. It aims to promote green and sustainable development in the energy sector, in which both countries can benefit from their respective experience and technical expertise. This initiative not only reflects a deep relationship between India and Germany, but also has the potential to make a significant contribution to environmental protection at the global level.Future directionThis emerging strategic partnership between India and Germany has further strengthened the trust between the two countries.
