India / Maharashtra Guv tests -ve for COVID-19, says 'not in self-isolation'

After at least 16 members of the Raj Bhavan staff tested positive for coronavirus, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari said he has tested COVID-19 negative. Adding that he has no symptoms of the virus, the Governor stated, "I am perfectly alright and not in self-isolation." This comes after reports claimed that he has isolated himself.

Mumbai: Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has put to rest the speculations that he was in isolation after 16 staff members at his residence tested positive for COVID-19. Koshyari has confirmed that he did take coronavirus test and that he has tested negative and is not under isolation. 

“I am perfectly alright, and not in self-isolation. I underwent relevant tests, the result of which came in the negative. There are no symptoms of COVID – 19 either. However, considering the COVID – 19 situation elsewhere, I am discharging all my official duties strictly adhering to protocols like social distancing, sanitizing, wearing of masks, etc. Reports appearing in a section of the press regarding my health are baseless. I am hale and hearty," he said in a statement.
