No-Confidence Motion: There has been an uproar in the Parliament regarding the Manipur issue. The monsoon session is not running smoothly from the beginning. The opposition wants a discussion on the Manipur issue and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement in Parliament. Simultaneously, he has brought a motion of no confidence in the Parliament. According to the information received from the sources, it will be decided on Monday when the no-confidence motion against the government will be discussed. PM Modi will be present in the House at the beginning of the discussion. After the discussion is over, PM Modi will answer it.

At the same time, it is being said that the no-confidence motion can be discussed next month on 7 or 8 August, although no official announcement has been made regarding this yet. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi says that the no-confidence motion will be discussed within the time period. He told that no problem is going to come because the government has the numbers.

Talking to the media on the no-confidence motion in the Parliament premises, he said that we will reply to the opposition. We are hopeful that there will be no problem as we have the numbers. Joshi said that the opposition does not participate in the discussion nor does it cooperate in passing the bills in the Parliament. We were ready to take their constructive suggestions, but suddenly they came up with a no-confidence motion. We are not too worried. He said that there is no better forum than Parliament to discuss the current situation in Manipur.

Opposition's demand, date should be fixed for voting on no-confidence motion soon

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla told the House on Wednesday that he has received a no-confidence motion from Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi under Rule 193. Members of the larger opposition alliance, I.N.D.I.A., are adamant on demanding that separate discussions be held in both houses to discuss the situation in Manipur. They are also stressing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement on the current situation in the northeastern state. Opposition MPs demand that the Speaker of the Lok Sabha fix a date for voting on the no-confidence motion filed earlier against the Centre.
