West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's visit to Delhi has intensified stir among opposition parties. Congress and Left parties are making 'match-fixing' claims regarding the meeting of CM Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The parties are linking this visit of the Trinamool Congress party supremo with the recent action by the Enforcement Directorate. CM Banerjee has reached the capital for four days. She will attend the meeting of NITI Aayog here and will also prepare the floor strategy with the MPs of her party.

Bengal Congress spokesperson Ritju Ghoshal said, "This match-fixing has been going on since the 2016 Bengal assembly elections. The ED has questioned Abhishek Banerjee only twice in the coal scam case. Whereas, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul are being harassed everyday in the National Herald case without any basis.

“To weaken the Congress, the BJP is strengthening regional parties like TMC. TMC fought elections in Goa and Tripura only to divide the opposition parties.

Here, CPI(M) Bengal secretary Mohammad Salim said, "This meeting is part of the match-fixing system, which has been going on for years. It is being said that Banerjee wants to discuss the demands of the state with Modi. Why a face-to-face meeting in this matter? Bureaucrats should be present. Before this there should be a secretary level meeting. It is all part of the setting. People cannot be fooled.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice President Dilip Ghosh said, “Banerjee always takes advantage of meeting with the Prime Minister. She tells people that she has fixed all the troubles. We hope the Center will not help them in their plans. Here, BJP Bengal chief Sukanta Majumdar said the meeting would not be helpful to Banerjee in any way.

Banerjee, who arrived in Delhi on Thursday with her nephew and TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, can meet PM Modi on Friday. In fact, opposition parties are questioning Banerjee due to this visit, which is taking place a few days after the arrest of former minister Partha Chatterjee. Chatterjee was arrested by the ED in the teacher recruitment scam case. The special thing is that even after leaving for the capital Kolkata, he did not issue any statement.
