New Delhi. Amidst the discussion on the population control bill of the Uttar Pradesh government, there will be a debate on the population control bill for the entire country in the monsoon session of Parliament. The BJP has also made a special strategy regarding the population bill. In fact, BJP plans to introduce this bill in the Rajya Sabha like a private member bill and get it discussed through its Rajya Sabha MPs.

BJP MP Rakesh Sinha's private member bill has already been introduced regarding population control. The bill is likely to be discussed on Friday of the second week in the monsoon session. Subramanian Swamy has also introduced a private bill on this issue.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said on Monday that all COVID-related protocols will be followed during the monsoon session of Parliament beginning July 19. He said that those who have not received the anti-coronavirus vaccination will be asked to undergo RT-PCR test before entering the Parliament premises during the session

Addressing a press conference in the Parliament House complex, Birla said that 323 MPs have been fully vaccinated against Kovid, while 23 MPs have not been able to take the first dose of vaccine due to some medical reasons. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha said that the sitting of both the houses will start at the same time at 11 am. The monsoon session of Parliament is starting from July 19 and will continue till August 13.

It is worth noting that the Uttar Pradesh government wants to implement the population control law in its state and in view of this, it has also prepared a draft of it. According to the draft, anyone violating the two-child policy in Uttar Pradesh will be debarred from contesting local body elections, applying for government jobs, promotions and receiving any government subsidy.

The draft of the Uttar Pradesh Population (Control, Stabilization and Welfare) Bill-2021 was prepared by the State Law Commission. The Law Commission has uploaded the draft of this bill on its official website and has sought public opinion on it till July 19.
