Rahul Gandhi News: Congress has made serious allegations regarding the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used during the Lok Sabha elections. It says that a serious case related to EVMs has come to light. In Mumbai, the mobile phone of NDA candidate Ravindra Waikar's relative was connected to the EVM. This NDA candidate won by just 48 votes. At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also raised questions. He has also mentioned this incident.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted, 'EVMs in India are a "black box" and no one is allowed to check them. Serious concerns are being raised about transparency in our electoral process. When there is a lack of accountability in institutions, democracy becomes a sham and the possibility of fraud increases.'

Congress sought clarification from Election Commission

At the same time, Congress questioned, 'Why was the mobile of the NDA candidate's relative connected to the EVM? How did the mobile phone reach where the votes were being counted? There are many questions which raise doubts. Election Commission should give clarification.'

According to a media report, during the investigation, Maharashtra's Vanrai police found that the accused Mangesh Pandilkar is a relative of Shiv Sena candidate Ravindra Waikar, who won by 48 votes from Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat. He was using a phone connected to the electronic voting machine. Police said that this mobile phone was used to generate OTP to unlock the EVM machine, which was used inside the NESCO center on June 4.

Police sent notice

Vanarai police has also sent a notice of CrPC 41A to accused Mangesh Pandilkar and Dinesh Gurav, who were Encore (poll portal) operators with the Election Commission (EC). The police have now sent the mobile phone to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) so that the data of the mobile phone can be traced and the fingerprints present on the phone are also being taken. According to police officials, the incident took place at the NESCO centre on June 4 during the counting of votes for the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency. After the matter came to light, the Congress has become aggressive.
