Flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport came to a complete standstill for 20 minutes after visibility dropped on July 8 morning. The operations were suspended between 9.12 a.m. and 9.31 a.m. following heavy rain.Two flights, a British Airways flight BA 135 and Spicejet flight SG 8701 from Delhi were diverted to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad respectively. A Mumbai International Airport Ltd. spokesperson said that flight operations had since resumed with delays.The India Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain or showers across Mumbai and its suburbs with the likelihood of heavy rainfall at isolated areas.
