45-year-old Anand is a poor helper, his son is undergoing treatment at NIMHANS Hospital in Bengaluru for the last 10 years. Anand used to come to NIMHANS once in two months to get medicines for the child. Everything is closed due to the lockdown, so he had to travel such a long journey by bicycle.

Anand, a resident of Kopplu village, had set out on a bicycle on May 23 to take medicine and returned with medicines on May 26. Doctors had told Anand that if the child stopped the medicines before the age of 18, then there was a high risk of epileptic seizures. When the doctors came to know about his coming from such a distance on a bicycle, they also gave him one thousand rupees.
