Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday released the Fit India mobile app, a private trainer-cum-fitness guide, at the event of the second anniversary of the Fit India Movement here. Thakur stated the app become a present from the authorities to the humans of India at the National Sports Day, which is widely known to mark the beginning anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday released the Fit India mobile app, a private trainer-cum-fitness guide, at the event of the second anniversary of the Fit India Movement here.

Thakur stated the app become a present from the authorities to the humans of India at the National Sports Day, which is widely known to mark the beginning anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.


“The Fit India app is a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand who's an icon to country’s sportspersons,” Thakur stated at a feature on the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here.

The occasion was also virtually attended through bronze medal-triumphing Tokyo Olympics hockey group captain Manpreet Singh.


“The app is a should for sportspersons to stay fit and they're anticipated to observe the app rigorously. This is an attempt to hold new, younger India in shape because a fit youth could make a remarkable India,” he added. “We don’t give enough importance to fitness. What we want to dedicate is simply half an hour of our time in a day to fitness. This app is amusing and free and anyone can check and monitor their health anywhere.”


Manpreet too vouched for the app. “This app could be very useful and easy to use. I am already using it and I hope it'll assist me in enhancing my fitness more,” he stated.

The occasion was also attended by Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik, Sports Secretary Ravi Mittal, Sports Authority of India Director General Sandeep Pradhan, amongst different dignitaries.
