Cricket | Team India's former left-handed batsman Suresh Raina has now announced retirement from all forms of cricket. Raina had to announce his retirement from cricket only to play cricket. There is a lot hidden in this one sentence. Raina has announced his retirement from Indian cricket for the time being. He will no longer play in any tournament affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).Suresh Raina, a left-handed batsman and popularly known as Mr IPL, tweeted, "It is an absolute honor to represent my country and state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all forms of cricket. BCCI, UPCA, Chennai Super Kings, Rajeev Shukla Sir and would like to thank all my fans for their support and unwavering belief in my abilities."Actually, Suresh Raina wants to play in different leagues and he will also be a part of the Road Safety World Series starting from 10 September. However, the BCCI policy states that a player who is associated with BCCI in any way cannot play in any foreign league or any other tournament. BCCI does not allow any cricketer to play in other tournaments or leagues.Suresh Raina has also had to announce his retirement from cricket just to play cricket. Raina can now play in any T20 or T10 league in the world and he can represent in any other tournament as well. In such a situation, he will never be seen playing in IPL again. Suresh Raina said goodbye to international cricket on 15 August 2020, when MS Dhoni announced his retirement.Raina did not play in IPL 2020 but was part of Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 season. However, he was neither retained by Chennai Super Kings nor bought by any team before the mega auction of IPL 2022. In such a situation, he was associated in the IPL as a commentator and was away from the world of cricket. Although, he still wants to play cricket, but he is not getting a chance in BCCI related tournaments in India. In such a situation, he has expressed his desire to retire from Indian cricket and play in foreign leagues. According to media reports, he is also in talks to play in some foreign leagues.
