Kedarnath Dham: The doors of Kedarnath Dham were closed with rituals this morning, with which the darshan of Kedarnath will now be in Omkareshwar temple located in Ukhimath for the next 6 months. The special puja-archana ceremony started from 4 am, and at 8:30 am the main doors of Kedarnath were closed. Due to snowfall in winter, the doors of Kedarnath are closed every year on the day of Bhai Dooj and then the doors are reopened in spring.

Process of closing the doors

On the day of closing the doors, the Panchmukhi idol is seated in the movable idol doli, which departs towards the Omkareshwar temple of Ukhimath as per traditional customs. The first stop of this journey will be in Rampur today via Gaurikund, Sonprayag, where the doli will rest overnight. After this, on November 5, the idol of Kedarnath will be installed in the Omkareshwar temple of Ukhimath, where devotees will be able to have darshan throughout the winter.

This year's pilgrimage

This year, tremendous enthusiasm of devotees was seen in Kedarnath Dham. According to the data, more than 16 lakh pilgrims reached Kedarnath. In the last 6 days only, about 1 lakh devotees took darshan. Even on the occasion of the closure of the doors, a large number of devotees were present in the temple, in which a wonderful confluence of enthusiasm and faith was seen.

Grand decoration of the temple

The Kedarnath temple was specially decorated on the occasion of the closure of the doors. The entire temple complex was decorated with about 10 quintals of flowers, which made the whole atmosphere devotional. From the Sabha Mandap of the temple to the main gate, flowers were decorated everywhere, and the devotees who witnessed this supernatural sight were overwhelmed by this scene.

Doors of other temples closed in Char Dham Yatra

The doors of other pilgrimage places of Char Dham Yatra are also now starting to close. Yesterday the doors of Gangotri Dham were closed, which is one of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand and is considered to be the abode of Mother Ganga. After the closure of the doors of Gangotri, the doors of Kedarnath as well as Yamunotri Dham will be closed today. After this, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be closed for the last time, which will conclude this yatra.

Thus, in the winter season, the doors of the four Dhams are closed and the idols of the gods are placed in the temples located in the lower regions. Here devotees can have darshan for six months of winter and after the doors open in spring, they again visit these holy places.
