Russia-Ukraine War / There is no agreement between Russia and the US on ending the war in Ukraine

The war between Russia and Ukraine continues. America's negotiation efforts failed. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said, several rounds of talks were held with America but no solution was found. Russia is ready for talks. NATO was threatened. Meanwhile, 35 people died in the Russian attack on Sumy.

Russia-Ukraine War: The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is not stopping. This conflict has not only become a major humanitarian crisis in Eastern Europe, but has also become a challenge for global politics. The US, especially its former President Donald Trump, has been active in efforts to end this war. However, recent developments and the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have made it clear that there is still no concrete consensus towards resolving this crisis.

Talks between America and Russia - but the result is zero

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told in an interview that several rounds of talks have been held with the US, but despite this no conclusive agreement has been reached. In an interview to the Kommersant newspaper, he said that Russia is ready to continue dialogue with the US. Pointing to the difference in the approach of Donald Trump and his predecessor Joe Biden, he said that the Trump administration is trying to understand the roots of the Ukraine crisis, which could be a positive sign towards resolving it.

Trump's response - allegations on Zelensky

Former President Donald Trump has once again accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of starting this war. Trump said, "You can't start a war against a country 20 times bigger and then expect missiles." His statement came at a time when Russia launched a missile attack on the city of Sumy, killing 35 people and injuring more than 100.

Russian warning to NATO

The increasing expansion of this war has also put NATO directly on target. Russian intelligence chief Sergei Naryshkin has openly warned NATO countries. He specifically named Poland and the Baltic countries - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia - saying that if these countries take provocative action against Russia and Belarus, they will have to face serious consequences. Naryshkin also alleged that Poland is planning to install two million anti-tank mines on the borders of Kaliningrad and Belarus in Russia.

The future of war – negotiations or increasing devastation?

These statements make it clear that the Ukraine war has reached a critical juncture. While on one hand some sections of the US are in favour of peace talks, on the other hand Russia's attacks and threats are making the ground situation even more dire. Lavrov's statement that Russia is ready for talks is certainly a ray of hope, but unless both sides seriously understand each other's concerns, concrete progress towards peace seems difficult.
