Bihar: Agitation of unemployed youth is going on in Bihar against the Agneepath Restoration Scheme for four years of service in the army. On Friday, the agitation was full of riots in which at least 14 trains were targeted in which 60 coaches were burnt. The worst was the Vikramshila Express running between Bhagalpur and New Delhi, all 23 coaches of which were burnt in Lakhisarai. In Danapur Railway Division alone, an estimated loss of Rs 226 crore has been caused during this agitation.

Danapur Divisional Railway Management i.e. DRM Prabhat Kumar told the media that his staff told that even during the entire revolution movement of Jaiprakash Narayan (JP) in 1974, there was no such loss to the railways. The DRM said that 50 coaches worth Rs 90 crore have been burnt while 7 locomotives worth Rs 61 crore have been damaged. 70 crore has been lost to the commercial department which deals with parcel and freight operations. Rest of the losses are also close to 5 crores.

DRM said that apart from these, 54 passenger trains and 41 express trains have been canceled, whose passengers will take refund, that loss is different. DRM Prabhat Kumar said that the damage has been such that it will take time for everything to return to normal. The DRM has also expressed the possibility of train cancellation during Saturday's bandh.

List of trains that became the target of miscreants

1- Fire in five coaches of Danapur-Malda Town-Delhi Express.

2 - Fire in Danapur - Secunderabad train.

3- Fire in guard bogie of Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir Intercity train.

4- Fatuha- Rajgir-Patna burnt two coaches of the passenger train.

5- Fire in five AC coaches of Nalanda- Magadha Express.

6- Burned the memo train at Ara-Kulhadiya station.

7- In Chapra- Chainwa, the engine of the goods train was set on fire.

8- Eight bogies of Jammu-Guwahati Lohit Express burnt in Samastipur- Mohiuddinnagar.

9- Samastipur – Burn five AC coaches of Bihar Sampark Kranti.

10- Muzaffarpur- Fire in the guard compartment of goods train at Siho station.

11- Fire in 23 coaches of Lakhisarai- Vikramshila and 7 coaches of Janseva Express.

12- Supaul- Passenger train set on fire

13- Fire in a bogie of Kiul-Gaya passenger train at Gaya-Paimar station.
