Maharashtra Election 2024: The recent statement made by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra politics has created a stir. In his statement, Shinde took a tough stand against Uddhav Thackeray and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and said that he had warned Uddhav Thackeray that the decision to go with the Congress was against the ideas of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. Shinde said that he had tried to convince Uddhav Thackeray repeatedly, but Thackeray gave priority to personal interests and formed an alliance with the Congress.

According to Shinde, Balasaheb Thackeray always advised to stay away from Congress and his ideology was against the Congress. Shinde said that due to this alliance, Shiv Sena and its workers had to suffer heavy losses. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra regarding the internal dissatisfaction in the party and the functioning of the government, he decided to form a Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government.

Decision taken as a Shiv Sena worker

Eknath Shinde, presenting himself as a true Shiv Sena worker, said that under party discipline, he initially supported the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. But later he realized that this government does not match the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray. He decided to take action against the MVA government to protect the future of his party and workers. According to Shinde, if there was no Shiv Sena-BJP alliance, the existence of Shiv Sena would have been in danger.

"I am 'CM' i.e. 'Common Man'"

Shinde said that he understands the meaning of Chief Minister (CM) as 'Common Man'. He said that the way he has worked in the last two years has been appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Due to having a government of one ideology at the Center and the state, there has been progress in many areas in Maharashtra. During Shinde's reign, Maharashtra has achieved remarkable achievements in GDP, FDI, GST and cleanliness. He said that during his tenure, more than Rs 5 lakh crore has been invested in the state.

Accusations on the previous government

Chief Minister Shinde targeted the previous MVA government and said that the government worked for personal interest rather than for the welfare of the people. Responding to the allegations of the opposition, Shinde said that the MVA government worked to satisfy its own wealth and interests. He also said that his government is working for the people and industries are being encouraged in the state through various schemes.

"If Balasaheb was here, he would have broken her mouth"

Chief Minister Shinde also reacted strongly to Arvind Sawant's controversial remarks about Sheena NC. He said that it is extremely unfortunate to say such a thing against a woman, and if Balasaheb Thackeray was there, he would have given a befitting reply to it. Shinde also said that women will teach such people a lesson during future elections. He also described the murder of Baba Siddiqui as a serious incident and said that the government will not spare its culprits under any circumstances and will do justice by going to the root of the incident.

Conclusion

Eknath Shinde's recent statements make it clear that he is taking a firm and clear approach in Maharashtra politics. Shinde's government has promised to give priority to Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology and work in the interest of the public. His stance has given rise to new controversies and discussions in politics, and it will be interesting to see what impact it has in the upcoming elections.
