Congress Manifesto: Amid preparations for the Haryana assembly elections, the Congress party has announced its manifesto. The manifesto was presented on Wednesday in the presence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The Congress has promised seven important guarantees to the people of Haryana, which are part of a concrete plan for the social and economic development of the state.

  • Prosperity to every family: 300 units of free electricity and medical insurance of Rs 25 lakh.
  • Power to women: Assistance of Rs 2000 every month and only Rs 500 for LPG cylinder.
  • Roof to the poor: Two-room house and 100-yard plot for Rs 3.5 lakh.
  • Prosperity to farmers: Legal guarantee of MSP (minimum support price) and crop compensation.
  • Rights to the backward: Caste census and increasing the limit of creamy layer to Rs 10 lakh.
  • Boost to social security: Rs 6000 pension to the elderly and disabled, Rs 6000 pension to widows, and restoration of old pension scheme.
  • Secure future for youth: Recruitment of 2 lakh government jobs and drug-free Haryana initiative.
Presence of prominent leaders

Senior party leaders, such as organization general secretary K.C. Venugopal, former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Ajay Maken, were also present at the manifesto announcement. These leaders assured the people of Haryana that the Congress is committed to their development and security.

Other important promises

The Congress has also promised that if they come to power, the old pension scheme will be re-implemented and a cooking gas cylinder worth Rs 500 will be provided to every family.

Election dates

Voting for Haryana's 90 assembly seats will be held in a single phase on October 5, while the counting of votes will be done on October 8.
