Maharashtra / Big action of security forces in Gadchiroli, 13 naxalites killed in Kotmi jungle

In Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, the security forces have launched a major operation against the Naxalites. Security forces and Naxalites clashed in Kotmi forest on Friday morning. Firing has stopped and search operation is being conducted. The bodies of 13 Naxalites have been recovered so far. Police suspect that there may be several big commanders among the slain Naxalites.

Confirming the operation against the Naxalites, IG Sandhi Patil of Gadchiroli Gondia range said that search operation was being conducted at present. Security forces suspect that many Naxalites may still be hiding in the Kotmi jungle, so search operations are being conducted with great alert.
