Madhya Pradesh / Collector, SP transferred after locals surround Tomar in flood-hit MP

The Madhya Pradesh government on Sunday transferred Sheopur District Collector RK Shrivastava and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay over security lapses during Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar's visit. Tomar was on Saturday surrounded by angry locals and mud was hurled at his motorcade during his visit to flood-hit Sheopur. Locals alleged they weren't alerted about floods in time.

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government on Sunday transferred IPS officer posted as SP from Sheopur district over security lapses during Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar's visit. Collector Rakesh Srivastava has also been transferred out of the district.

Tomar was on Saturday mobbed by angry locals and mud was hurled at his motorcade as he visited the flood-affected Sheopur city.

Sheopur SP Sampat Upadhyay has now been posted as AIG police headquarters.

When Tomar visited the city to meet flood-victims, people registered their protest accusing him of a delayed response.
