J&K Election 2024: The Congress party has released its fourth list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, which includes the names of five prominent candidates. The party has given tickets to Mir Iqbal from Baramulla, Nizamuddin Bhatt from Bandipora, Ashok Bhagat from Akhnoor, former Deputy Chief Minister Tarachand from Chhamb assembly constituency, and Bhushan Dogra from Suchetgarh (SC). This list is considered an important step in the election strategy of the Congress, which reflects the party's election preparations in the state.

The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being held after a long gap of 10 years, which is being held for the first time after the abolition of Article 370. In this election, the Congress and the National Conference have formed an alliance, which is an important political alliance in this election phase. There are a total of 114 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, but after delimitation, now elections will be held on only 90 seats, while the remaining 24 seats fall in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).

The election process will be completed in three phases: the first phase will be held on September 18, the second on September 25, and the third phase on October 1. The election results will be declared on October 8, which was earlier scheduled for October 4, but the Election Commission has changed it to October 8.

This time the assembly elections may mark a significant change in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, especially with the alliance of Congress and National Conference. Congress' strategy and selection process of candidates in these elections may prove to be crucial for the electoral future of the party.
