In the affidavit given by Sachin after filing nomination as Congress candidate from Tonk Assembly seat, 'Divorced' is written in front of his wife's name.

When did the marriage take place?

Sachin and Sara had a love marriage. Both of them were married in January 2004. Both of them got divorced after 19 years of marriage. It is noteworthy that Sara is the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah. Sachin and Sara have 2 sons. Sachin has written the names of his two sons in the dependent column.

Earlier, during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, there were reports of separation of Sachin and Sara but these were not confirmed at that time and these reports were denied.

When did Sachin file his nomination?


Keeping in mind the Rajasthan Assembly elections, Sachin Pilot filed nomination from Tonk Assembly on October 31. In the election affidavit given during this period, he also gave details of his assets and filled the column of wife as divorced.

When Sachin studied MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, London, it was there that he met Sara Abdullah. Sachin and Sara fell in love with each other and got married. The barrier of religion also came in the way of marriage but Sachin Pilot married Sara on 15 January 2004.
