Shardiya Navratri 2022: Coconut is definitely used in any auspicious work in Hindu religion. It is believed that worship is incomplete without coconut. When it comes to keeping coconut in the Kalash, it has been given a lot of importance in astrology. Establishment of Kalash is the main stage at the time of worship and through this the deities are invoked so that we can get success in whatever work we are going to do. According to astrology, God cannot reside in the Kalash in which coconut is not kept and such worship is also not considered complete.It has been told in the scriptures that coconut is the fruit of Shriphal i.e. Lakshmi ji. - There are certain rules you should follow when coconut is placed over the Kalash during Navratri.
- During Navratri, whenever you place a coconut on the Kalash, it should face towards the person worshiping.
- At the time of setting up the Kalash, tie Kalava on the coconut and keep mango or Ashoka leaves in the Kalash.
- Pour water into the Kalash and put a coin then place a coconut on it.
- By installing coconut in this way, worship is acceptable to all the deities and happiness and prosperity of the house remains.
