Maharashtra New CM / Eknath Shinde also created a problem regarding the post of Deputy CM?

Maharashtra New CM: Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra politics recently termed his two and a half years of tenure as "remarkable" during a press conference. During this time, he not only praised the work done under his leadership, but also made an important statement about the post of Chief Minister.

What did Shinde say?

Eknath Shinde made it clear in his statement that the welfare of the people of Maharashtra is paramount for him. He said,

"Two and a half years ago Devendra Fadnavis recommended my name, and today I have supported him. For us it was never a question of what we are getting. Our priority was only what Maharashtra is getting."

He dismissed reports of any kind of dissatisfaction in the Mahayuti (NDA) alliance and said,

"There is no high and low in the Mahayuti. The work done by our team will be written in golden letters in history."

What did Shinde say about the post of CM?

When asked if he would take oath as Deputy CM, he said,

"Wait till evening, everything will be known."

His comment further increased the suspense, however, he showed a clear stand on any kind of controversy over the post of Chief Minister.

A quip to lighten the atmosphere in the press conference

During the press conference, Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar were sitting together. During the conversation, Ajit Pawar jokingly said,

"I am going to take oath tomorrow, I am not going to wait."

To this, Shinde replied laughingly,

"Dada has experience of taking oath both in the morning and evening."

All the leaders and journalists present there laughed at this joke, which brought some ease to the serious atmosphere.

Ajit Pawar's statement

Ajit Pawar clarified on his Delhi visit that he had not gone there for any political meeting. He clarified,

"I had gone to Delhi for my wife's work and to meet lawyers. The atmosphere there is a little calmer than Mumbai."

New equation in politics?

Despite the light conversation between Shinde and Pawar, it is clear that there can be a big change in the politics of Maharashtra. The swearing-in ceremony and the equations within the alliance will present a new picture in the coming times.

It is clear from this press conference that not only is the discussion about leadership intensifying in Maharashtra, but a new definition of political understanding and coordination is also being written under the Mahayuti.
