Lok Sabha Election Result / From Putin to Biden… these global leaders congratulated PM Modi

Lok Sabha Election Result: More than 75 world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the electoral victory of the ruling NDA and expressed hope for deeper bilateral relations during his third term. On the other hand, the Prime Minister has invited the King of Bhutan, President of Sri Lanka, Prime Ministers of Nepal, Bangladesh and Mauritius for his swearing-in ceremony.

President Putin and Sunak spoke to Modi separately on the phone. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Taiwanese President Lai Ching Te and the Chinese Foreign Ministry also sent congratulatory messages to Modi.

Biden congratulates PM Narendra Modi

Biden wrote on X, "Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on their victory and to the nearly 650 million voters in this historic election." He said that the friendship between our countries is only growing, as we are unlocking a shared future with unlimited possibilities.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson also posted a message on X congratulating Modi and said Beijing looks forward to a "healthy and stable China-India relationship". Among the G-20 countries, President Macron, German Chancellor Scholz, the Prime Ministers of Italy and Japan and the President of South Korea have congratulated Modi on his election victory.

British PM Sunak spoke to Modi

In his message, Putin congratulated Modi and said that Russia attaches great importance to the relationship of special and privileged strategic partnership with India. The Russian Embassy in Delhi said that Putin warmly congratulated Modi during a phone conversation and said that the election victory reflects support for the path taken by the Indian leadership. From India's neighbourhood and extended neighbourhood, the Presidents of Maldives, Iran, Seychelles and the Prime Ministers of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Mauritius have congratulated Modi.

British PM Sunak spoke to Modi and congratulated him on his election victory. He said that Britain and India have the closest friendship and together this friendship will continue in the future. In a letter to Modi, Scholz said that I want to congratulate you on your election victory. Our countries have been strategic partners for decades. He said that we will continue our successful cooperation to deepen German-Indian relations and work on international and global issues.

Bangladesh's Sheikh Hasina said this

In her message, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told Modi that as the leader of the world's largest democracy, you carry the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. She said that your spectacular victory is a proof of the trust and faith expressed by the people of India in your leadership, commitment and unwavering dedication to the country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed hope that the friendship between India and Israel will continue to grow to new heights. From Africa, the presidents of Kenya, Nigeria, Comoros have sent congratulatory messages to Modi. From the Caribbean islands, the leaders of Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana have also sent congratulatory messages to Modi. The Prime Minister of Malaysia is among the South East Asian leaders who congratulated Modi.

In his message, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu said that he is looking forward to working with Modi. Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he is looking forward to further strengthening bilateral relations. Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay also expressed hope to further strengthen India-Bhutan relations during Modi's third term.
