MP Politics: There was a war of words between BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday when the Congress leader asked why he (Chouhan) had to step down from the post of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after the assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Badnawar, Madhya Pradesh as part of Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Kharge referred to Chauhan's statement that Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were dissolving their party as per the wishes of Mahatma Gandhi.'What was the reason why Modi did not allow you to come closer?'Kharge said, “Shivraj Chauhan had come to Gulbarga 15 days ago. He said that Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are working to destroy Congress…People asked me about Chouhan’s statement.” The Congress President said, “I said, they should ask Chouhan why he was removed (from the post of Chief Minister) despite winning the elections. What was the reason? What was the reason that Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) did not allow you to come closer?”
'Keep counting until there are no more leaders left in Congress than can be counted on fingers'At the same time, Chauhan hit back at 'X' and said that Congress is losing elections one after the other under the leadership of Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. He said that since 2013, Congress has lost more than 50 elections and many former chief ministers and big leaders have left the party. He wrote on 'X', “Keep counting them, until there are no leaders left in the party who can be counted on fingers. Kharge ji, now tell me whether Rahul ji and you are fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi's statement that Congress should be abolished after independence.Chouhan said, “When the entire country was immersed in the devotion of Lord Ram, the Congress rejected the invitation for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. Hatred towards Sanatan Dharma and Lord Ram is the reason for your party going into the abyss.”खड़गे जी, सच्चाई कड़वी तो होती है लेकिन सुननी चाहिए।
