Rajasthan / LPG cylinder blast in Jaipur Chaura Rasta Building caves in; 2 feared dead

Two people including a child are feared dead after an LPG cylinder reportedly exploded on the first floor of a building in Chaura Rasta on Monday. The incident took place in the morning. According to preliminary reports, an LPG cylinder leaked and then exploded in a building in Chuara Rasta. TThe local residents said that the building was already in a dilapidated state and caved in following the explosions.

Jaipur: Two people including a child are feared dead after an LPG cylinder reportedly exploded on the first floor of a building in Chaura Rasta on Monday. One more person is feared buried under the debris. Many adjoining houses were evacuated following the tragedy. The rescue operation has been going on since 7 am.

The incident took place in the morning. According to preliminary reports, an LPG cylinder leaked and then exploded in a building in Chuara Rasta. The nearby residents heard a loud thud and explosions following which they informed the police control room. Fire fighters and rescue teams rushed to the spot.

The body of a teenager was pulled out from under the debris around 7.30 pm. Another body was found at 10 pm. The second victim was a woman. It is feared that one more person is buried under the debris and the efforts to rescue the person were on till the reports last came in.

The local residents said that the building was already in a dilapidated state and caved in following the explosions.

The devotees who had come to visit Tadkeshwar Temple were evacuated. The occupants of nearby houses were also asked to leave. The police stopped traffic on the road.
