Hindenburg Report: The Supreme Court heard the Hindenburg case today. During this hearing, Tushar Mehta said that we are ready to form the committee. We have no objection in forming the committee. Now the next hearing of this case will be on 17 February. The Central Government told the Supreme Court that we will give the names of who will be in the committee in a closed envelope.Center said – we have no objectionDuring the hearing in the Supreme Court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, said that the committee may have some adverse effect on the money flow. Mehta says the government has no objection to appointing a committee to suggest how to ensure investor protection in future and SEBI is competent to deal with the situation. The Center told the Supreme Court that it had no objection to the proposal to set up an expert committee to strengthen the regulatory mechanism.Next hearing of the case will be on February 17.The Supreme Court asked the Center to hear the matter on Friday i.e. February 17 and apprise it about the functioning of the committee. Meanwhile, on the issue of handing over the copy of the arguments to the petitioners, the Solicitor General said that the confidentiality of the note should be maintained. Tell that the central government has agreed to form the committee. This committee will suggest how the current regulatory system can be improved. Apart from this, how the interests of the investors can be protected."If there is no objection from the committee then why not probe from JPC"Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has tweeted after this reply of the government in the court. Jairam Ramesh has written that the Solicitor General has said that the government has no objection to the formation of the committee, so why is the government adamant on not conducting an inquiry by the JPC. Why don't you want that JPC to investigate, in which most of the BJP leaders and its allies are there.
